This story is about a young lady who came to this country about three years ago. She is a permanent resident now. She gave up a fourteen year career with her former company, left her family behind, her friends and her whole way of life to come here. Since she’s been here, she went eight months with out work. She’s had to adjust to a whole new culture. She had to learn how to drive because most women in her home country don’t drive.
She has adapted very well to the customs here. When she did finally get a job, it was a job in her career field, ((( Human Resources ))). She has been with her company a little over two years. Within six months on the job, she went from assistant HR officer to full HR director. Her company has praised her for her knowledge of US law. They also have given her the recognition as one of the best HR directors in the entire southeastern region.
But even with all the accolades, she has not received a raise since she started working there. We all know the economy has hurt a lot of people and a lot of companies as well. Even so, after giving up so much and making that climb back to the top in a whole different country, I think this young lady
REALLY DESERVES THIS RAISE.
