Down But not Out

Nominee: Robert J.

Down But not Out

His career started at 4 with a lemonade stand, somehow understanding even though young the need for money which was extremely tight because his father became disabled that year.  Being industrious he mowed grass and pulled weeks during his preteen years, when 13 he got a job repairing vacuums after school, riding his bike up a busy dangerous, winding mountain road.

He started working for the Water Department in our small town, the physical work demanding and strenuous, yet he handled the responsibilities like a man, even being promoted to Assistant Operator at age 17.  He moved to Florida with his boss where they worked together hanging sheet rock.  It was hard physical work, but than he was accustomed to working hard.  Eventually he went into business himself developing a reputation for workmanship, dependability, and integrity.

Seeking to expand his business horizons, he started pursuing network marketing in the
evenings and on weekends, quickly developing his own organization,  working day and night, many times without food or enough sleep to help others depending on him.

When his brother returned from military he went into business with him opening a pager, cellular phone, and satellite business, (while still continuing his network business in the evenings and on weekends, always training and helping others.)  Working endlessly, he developing the computer systems necessary for all the departments, also, working frequently from early morning until the wee hours of the next day, designing, remodeling, and restructuring the business to function professionally and profitably.

After selling the business he and his wife decided to buy and refurbish homes, again working endlessly repairing, remodeling, and landscaping; one featured in the major newspaper [Sunday magazine section for outstanding homes in the area].  That home took longer than expected to restored, plus a long string of bad luck coupled with several business betrayals, and than the real estate market collapse and they could not get out in time, so they hit rock bottom, losing everything,  their home, their assets, literally everything.  There was no bail out for them.

Although knocked down, he is not out!  He never quits, he just keeps working harder and
smarter.  Now our son ingeniously developed a unique solution for solving the real estate crisis, potentially helping prevent another real estate collapse, thereby helping the
economy as a whole. His health has suffered tremendously from all the exhaustion and stress; his wife having a miscarriage, he severely fatigue, with no medical insurance to help, yet, he continues to work feverishly, seeking the resources and funding necessary to launch his patented solution.  This patent has the potentials of benefiting everyone.  $40, 000.00 will get this program under way, thereby helping both our economy and County…........
