America Deserves A Raise

Congratulations to our Grand
Prize and Runner-Up stories.

He does so much for so many

Nominee: Bill W.

My husband deserves a HUGE raise for being such a good person.  This man is 53 years old and works 7 days a week.  He has done this for the last 11 or so years.  Sometimes he even works 10 and 12 hour days.  I seriously don’t know how he does it.  His job is hard, physical work, including welding and installing pipes and conveyors, running heavy machinery, hauling rocks and machine parts and anything else that needs to be done.  Through it all, he comes home in a good mood and enjoys the time he has with friends and family.  He supports the two of us as well as our youngest daughter who is still in college, and helps out our oldest daughter and grandson.  He keeps our yard mowed, hangs up and takes down the Christmas lights, changes the oil in our cars and fixes stuff around the house.

He has done so much for so many.  He has helped friends when they move and remodel, cut down trees for his sister, does anything his mom asks him to and babysits our grandson now and then.  He volunteers his time when he can, to help out local community groups.  There are just so many things he will go out of his way to do for folks.  When I stop and think about all the things he has done and continues to do, I’m amazed!

He has a strong sense of fairness, he’s honest to a fault and he believes in the goodness of people.  I know this sounds like I’m making stuff up, but you can ask anyone who knows him and they will totally agree with me.  He has worked so hard for so many years that it would be wonderful to see him receive something great in return.  I can’t think of anything nicer I could give him than this chance to get caught up on bills, pay off a couple of loans and maybe even get a new truck (his is over 10 years old and in really bad shape).  This man is generous, kind and loving and I can’t think of anyone who deserves a raise more than him.
