America Deserves A Raise

Imagine having an emotional problem without the ability to seek financial help or insurance.
I am lucky to have Doreen for a Mother-in-Law.  She is one of the most caring and compassionate people that I have ever known.  She started her own company a number of years ago to help people with psychiatric problems get State Eligibility assistance.  These people were at the mercy of psychiatric institutions and mentally incapable of applying and following through for this assistance on their own.
Many of these people have severe emotional problems that hinder their ability to function in society without help.  They need expensive professional help to deal with many issues.  Doreen takes the time each week to evaluate each possible client and determine if they meet the requirements for assistance and then does everything possible to get this assistance for them.  Doreen meets with each individual and talks to them with amazing compassion to gather the information she needs to help them.  A lot of paperwork is involved with this State assistance and Doreen clears the path for each client through filling in all of their information, filing the paperwork, and attending any necessary meetings and appeals processes at different State Department locations to procure this assistance for them.  She makes this tedious process look easy and enables these individuals to stand on their own feet through State programs that were created for them.
Doreen employs herself and works long hours for little pay to help people that are in desperate need.  She works out of her home, has no other full time employees, and does everything needed to run her company all alone.  I can’t think of anyone that deserves a raise more.
