America Deserves A Raise

I’m nominating Joe for a raise. Joe is the most hard working man I’ve ever known.  He is well liked and fun to be around.  Even though he doesn’t make much profit each year he donates to several charities and helps anyone whenever he can.  At the age of 43, disgusted with how much metal was going into landfills,  he decided to start his own business recycling scrap metal and appliances.  With a small loan from some wonderful folks who totally believed in him, he got a DBA, a trailer, insurance, licenses, more insurance and then some more insurance!  In a short 5 years he has aquired many garage door, heating & cooling, auto repair shops and even a community as customers.  He offers free haul away of scrap metal and appliances and even picks up at customers job sites.  Work is backbreaking sometimes.  He works all night sometimes. He works in freezing cold and snow and in sweltering heat and rain. He pulls his trailer with a 1998 cargo van that constantly requires repair.  He makes a decent living and feels good about his contribution to our environments well being.  He is a member of his local chamber, he is BBB accredited and EPA certified. No one I know deserves a raise more than Joe.
