America Deserves A Raise

My sister Ann is one of the strongest people I know.  However, for the past 2 years, she has been battling breast cancer.  She is a single mom of 3 kids.  She is currently living with me as she is too sick to work.  Back in May of 2008, she was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 38.  Prior to that she was putting herself through cosmetology school.  While battling this horrible disease the first time, she still continued to go to school to obtain her cosmotology license through the state of Nevada.  At first, her oncologist told her that her type of cancer was basically boring and that she would only need radiation.  So she underwent the lumpectomy to remove the small tumor.  The margins were NOT clear and had traveled to her closest lymph nodes.  So this changed her treatment to chemotherapy and radiation combined.  After she completed her first 6 months of chemo, she went to have a PET scan and the tumor had returned.  She then underwent a series of 6 more lumpectomies to remove the tumor.  However the tumor was spreading throughout her lymph nodes.  The doctor decided to hit the original spot with radiation for 30 days and then re-assess her condition.  This was during the summer of 2009. At the end of this 30 days, she had lost her Medicaid and the doctors stopped seeing her as they all had a “policy” for cash pay payments.  So we fought for over 6 months to try to find someone to help her when one day she finally started bleeding internally.  It was at this point, we found out she was in remission.  However, this was short lived.  She had knee pain in February 2010.  We found the cancer spread to her femur bone and had returned to her breast.  The bone cancer was treated successfully.  If Ann gets this money, she will use it to find treatment for her original breast cancer.  This money could actually save her life.  Please consider her for this money.
